TNPSC Age Limit
(as on 01.07.2025):
General (Others): 18–32 years for most posts; 21–32 years for Village Administrative Officer, Forest Guard, Forest Guard with Driving Licence, Forest Watcher, and Forest Watcher (Tribal Youth).
Reserved Categories (BC/MBC/SC/ST): 18–34 years (BC/MBC), 18–37 years (SC/ST); 21–37 years for Forest Guard/Watcher posts.
Age Concessions:
PwBD: +10 years (General: up to 42; Reserved: up to 44/47).
Ex-Servicemen: Up to 55 years for reserved categories; for Forest Guard/Watcher posts, age calculated after deducting service period (max 32/37 years).
Destitute Widows: Up to 37 years (General), 42 years (Reserved).
No maximum age limit for BC/MBC/SC/ST candidates with qualifications higher than SSLC for non-Forest posts.
Maximum age limit means not exceeding 60 years as on 01.07.2025.
TNPSC Educational Qualifications:
Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant (Non-Security/Security), Junior Revenue Inspector, Typist, Steno Typist, Field Assistant, Forest Watcher: Minimum General Educational Qualification (SSLC/ 10th Pass / Matriculation).
Junior Executive (Office): Degree + Co-operative Training + Certificate Course in Computer Office Automation (exempted for Computer Science/related degree holders).
Junior Assistant cum Typist, Typist (Specific Organizations): Degree + Typewriting Higher (English/Tamil) and Lower (Tamil/English) + Computer Office Automation (exempted for Computer Science/related degree holders).
Steno Typist (Specific Organizations): Degree + Typewriting and Shorthand Higher (English/Tamil) or mixed grades.
Personal Clerk: Degree + Typewriting and Shorthand Higher in both Tamil and English (or specified lower grades).
Assistant: Degree + Computer Office Automation (exempted for Computer Science/related degree holders).
Forest Guard: Higher Secondary (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, or Botany.
Forest Guard with Driving Licence: Higher Secondary (10+2) with relevant subjects + valid driving licence + 3 years driving experience + basic automobile knowledge + first aid certificate.
Knowledge of Tamil: Mandatory; proven by SSLC/HSC/Degree with Tamil or Tamil medium studies or Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil.
All qualifications must be obtained by 25.04.2025 from recognized boards/ institutions.

Examination Fee: ₹ 100/- per application.
Exempted for SC/ST/PwBD/Destitute Widows; partial emptions for BC/MBC (3 free chances).
