Amazon Business represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base and is an area of high interest for Amazon. We are focused on building solutions that enable the B2B customer to find, research, and buy products and services from a vast selection, across multiple devices, marketplaces and regions. Our customers include individual professionals, small businesses to large institutions (and everything in between). Our business customers have different needs than the traditional Amazon customer and we are reinventing everything from how we display our selection, price our products, and provide the right customer experience.

We are looking for a hands-on, detail oriented and highly motivated individual to head Marketing for the Amazon Business marketplace (AB). AB’s vision is to be the destination for all businesses in India to find, discover and buy for all their business needs.
The individual will be the single threaded owner of Business Customer Lifecycle (awareness, acquisition and engagement) on Amazon Business with the charter to build the best-in-class self-serve shopping experience for business customers in India. At a high level, the role owns driving understanding of customer behavior, generating insights to inform business investments and manages interventions across the customer lifecycle including branding, awareness, registration, activation, retention, habit formation and prevention of lapsers.
The role indexes high on thought leadership, influencing diverse stakeholders without authority and dealing with ambiguity.
The role would lead a team of General and Product Marketing Managers and would need to actively collaborate with other stakeholders like the AB IN Sales, Category, Product and Finance teams, AB WW Marketing & Product teams, Amazon Consumer Category and Marketing teams.

The position is based at the Amazon India headquarters in Bangalore and will have people management responsibilities.

Role and Responsibilities

 

  • Leverage marketing acumen and deep understanding of a heterogeneous customer base (from Sole Proprietors to medium/large enterprises across industries – IT/Services/Manufacturing/Healthcare/etc.) to develop a brand & marketing strategy that establishes ABIN as the indisputable destination of choice for institutional purchases
  • Leverage PR, Cross-channel marketing, digital and BTL channels to grow AB brand awareness
  • Exhibit thought leadership in defining the marketing vision to chart out a differentiated offering for business customers
  • Define and drive strategies to increase customers’ share of wallet on ABIN with initiatives across lifecycle stages (inactive/lapsed, active, highly-engaged)
  • Adapt the AB WW Product Marketing strategy for driving AB IN customer engagement
  • Tag team with the AB IN Category team and share insights on key input gaps which are hindering customer engagement
  • As Voice of Customer for AB IN, Think Big to bridge gap to conceive of, propose, sell (internally/externally) new ideas on features to acquire & engage business customers.
  • Represent their charter in IN and Global leadership reviews

Basic Qualifications

• MBA from Tier 1 B-School, with at least ten years of experience in leading Marketing, Sales or Category teams.
• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Experience in directly leading operational and project teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Work experience in consumer product sales/marketing or in e-commerce.
• Prior experience influencing C-level executives.
